The Blackout
As Lisha once said, I did good today.
Well actually it was yesterday, but this one sounds so much better, wouldn't you agree?
So you might have noticed that I haven't been active much since the Australians got here, and even for a while after they left.
Them.
There's been a lot of hype about them while they were here, and unless you live under the proverbial rock you would have seen them at some point or another as they failed completely at blending into the crowd here at school.
I haven't really got a lot of good pictures unlike the last time, but I will post them as they come.
On to the real issues.
Yellow > Blue
Blue > Green
Green > Red
Congrats yellow. Even though I have so many friends who are blue, it's the one house I couldn't stand to see win (again).
Sorry guys but it's true. No other house makes such a big deal out of winning. Jason Woi says it's because your house hasn't won in like, ten years or something, but just about everyone else wanted to see you fall as a house, no matter how much we like you all individually.
Which really says a lot about... bleh. Writer's block.
Sports day ended on a pretty anticlimatic note though. Although yellow only won by ten points, it was hard to be excited when you couldn't hear the announcements.
Guan Xiong > Chuck Norris
Green house unleashed the beast that day. Guan Xiong won four golds and three silvers, even after not taking part in 400m and being disqualified from the 800m for turning up late.
Do I really have to tell you how fast he is?
His brother won the performance trophy though (broke two records when Guan Xiong only broke one), which has made us wonder if his family line is the result of centuries of crossbreeding or something.
Guan Xiong confirmed this today, when he told us about his parents. And not in the way he once told us about his sister.
Guan Xiong: My sister? Like dog only la. Annoying like cibai.
As it turns out his mom set a disc-throwing record at some girls school in Sarawak that hasn't been broken to this day. And his dad? His dad plays chess.
Which explains so much.
Well, cybersports day, which took place in a nearby cybercafe roughly half an hour after sports day, was so much better.
More than three solid hours of CounterStrike seperated the men from the boys and showed us how the individual houses would fare if we actually had an interhouse cybersports day
Jenq Yan > Daniel > Brian
Brian is solid, and Daniel strikes fear with flashbangs and bunny hops, but Jenq Yan is to CounterStrike what Guan Xiong is to track (as in track and field, you know, running).
Godlike.
Yellow didn't even have a rep here. Jon, perhaps, or maybe even Eugene.
When we first started playing, there was a guy in a school shirt who was just leaving. Said he's been there for three hours already. Clever.
Anyway, more on mascots next time.

Do you get this picture? No?
It's a graphic representation of Friday morning, when Seah and I stumbled into the midst of a blue house pep talk. Peako was giving the talk and wearing his I-Don't-Like-This-Color green shirt.
It's a green shirt with the words I Don't Like This Color written on the back. I think I gave him that idea, but I'm not really sure.
So there we were, the two of us, standing shoulder to shoulder, surrounded by aliens, and there were a lot more blues than you see in the picture.
Peako: We're four points up, and tomorrow we can show the whole school, along with these two here that blue house is the best. Move along la... go and have your own pep talk!
Jun Ian: Oh, we're just going to mooch off yours.
Peako: You see? Everyone wants to be part of the winning house.
Jun Ian: What color are you wearing? Doesn't look like blue.
Peako: Can you read what it says on the back?
Jun Ian: Uhm, nope... the color too nice already...

Bzzt bzzt... red house!Heck, even the PBSM won a trophy for... something.
The crowd cheers, and Wee Lik screams. I was like STFU man I can't hear what they're saying. And he tells me he can't hear them either.
Bzzt bzzt... green house!
The crowd cheers again, and none of us know why, but there are trophies being handed out.
This went on for awhile.
Bzzt bzzt... blue house!
And blue house starts jumping up and down, and someone says they just won gymrama (which it turns out they didn't).
Bzzt bzzt... yellow house!
This time, Peako drops to his knees, and admist the confusion you see the House Cup so you can kinda figure out what's happening.

While a Tangelo does sound pretty cool, shouldn't it be called a Tangrape or a Grangerine or something?
